Tips for your interview

We know that an interview can make people extremely nervous, we are all human. The employees at Dräger interviewing you understand this having been in exactly the same position themselves. Interviews are a two way process and it is also an opportunity for you to decide if Dräger is the right organisation for you. We are very proud of our Company and would like to get to know you first and foremost as a person. The first stage of the interview process will not involve an assessment centre but an informal interview. The interviewer will introduce themselves, our Company and give you an overview of the department you have applied to join. It is important to us that we paint an accurate picture of life at Dräger from the outset to enable you to buy into our organisation. It is important that you have a detailed job description in advance of the interview so that we can discuss the demands of the job you have applied for and what aspects appeal to you and what aspects you would find more challenging. Dräger does not want you to change your in order to fit an image or job description at interviews. We as a Company embrace our employees’ individuality as our uniqueness as people is what makes us all special. Potential candidates should be themselves and be honest, we find that candidates who follow this advice are usually the most successful. Preparation thoroughly at home prior to the interview should include deciding the questions you would like to ask of Dräger:

Reflect on the following questions at home:

  • What are the most important achievements highlighted on my CV? What could Dräger ask me about this?
  • What are my expectations from the position I have applied for? What experience can I bring to this position?
  • Why am I looking for a new job? What is it about the vacancy at Dräger that appeals to me?
  • What are my strengths? What career ambitions do I have?
  • What questions do I have about the position: new tasks, colleagues or Dräger as an employer

Here's how the interview process works at Dräger:

Of course not every interview proceeds identically. This depends on you, the position applied for, and the questions you ask. Nevertheless, a pattern has emerged based on our experience.

  • At the beginning, the interviewers introduce themselves and their job role so you know who you are talking to.
  • We will then ask you to talk us through your CV and tell us about yourself. You should tell us about your major achievements and previous experiences. You should explain why you chose a particular career path and employers. What have you learnt in previous positions?
  • We also want to know why you decided to apply to Dräger. What about the new job interests you? Why do you think you are particularly well-suited for this position? What do you expect from your future job?
  • After that, you have time to ask questions of us, for example, on your development opportunities at Dräger.
  • At the end of the interview, you discuss the next steps of the recruitment process and how we will provide you with feedback.

We as a Company want to provide both successful and unsuccessful candidates with a positive experience during the recruitment process. We want candidates to feel comfortable and at ease in the interview environment to enable us to get to know you. Remember there are no right or wrong answers to questions, just be yourself and should our Company values and beliefs match your own then the recruitment process will result in a successful conclusion. Good Luck and we look forward to seeing you soon.
